👋🏼 I'm Luis Ricardo La Torre, aka lulato — a product designer and AI engineer focused on interactive experiences. I help founders and business leaders prototype, test, and ship new digital products.
As the son of a Hare Krishna backpacker and a Peruvian diplomat, both of them always on the move across South America, it's hard to say which city I can call home — but I was born in Lima, Peru. Much of my early childhood was homeschooled, jumping between schools all over Latin America.
When I was 14, my mom took the leap and moved to Florida with the Hare Krishna movement. I spent my high school days between the Gainesville area and Miami.
I was lucky enough to get accepted into a few art schools before deciding on Columbus College of Art & Design, where I surrounded myself with some of the most creative people I've ever met.
Columbus College of Art & DesignAfter college, right as smartphones were taking off, I got hooked on the Miami tech scene. I designed experiences for small startups for a few years before landing one of the most consequential jobs of my career: Royal Caribbean's digital transformation.
I'm currently designing experiences at Method, working out of Miami Beach. Alongside that I build iOS and web prototypes and n8n automations for founders across the US and LATAM — and I still help code students with their CSS troubles.
